Son of the late Frank Arthur and Ada Margaret Graham Murrow, he was a 1944 graduate of Lambert High School. He joined the U.S. Army during WWII, then was recalled during the Korean War. He married Merle Gean Kilck on May 26, 1951, in Phoenix City, AL. They farmed and ranched south of Ashley and moved to Alva in 1970. He sold cars for Holderby. He was survived by his companion, Donnetta Joachims of Alva; two sons, Franklin and Kevin Murrow, both of Alva; two sisters, Maxine Cochran of Cherokee and Phyllis Goss of Pratt, KS; four grandchildren; and one step-grandson. He was preceded in death by one brother. His funeral was held Janaury 27, 2009, at Alva Friends Church with Mark McDonald, pastor, officiating.
