Called Home

Ethel Parker Carroll, wife of Benjamin Carroll, died at 2:35 a. m. Wednesday, September, 4th, at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. D. Parker on North Spring creek, of Puerperal fever. Mrs. Carroll gave birth to a daughter on last Friday morning, Aug., 30th and seemed to be doing as nicely as could be desired until Sunday when her friends in town were alarmed to hear that she was quite ill. Tuesday she seemed much better for a short time, but grew rapidly worse until the end.

Mrs. Carroll was only twenty years of age and had lived in our midst almost from infancy and grief at her death lies heavily in the hearts of all. In all the bright troop of sons and daughters that have grown up in the Valley there was none more pure in mind, more conscientiously upright in character or more true and kind to all than the one who has left us now to join the One whose Word she has followed so faithfully. Mrs. Carroll has, since early girl-hood, been a member of the Presbyterian church and was married in that church eleven months ago. Her short married life has been one of unclouded happiness and the past few weeks which she spent at her parents home were so illumined, for all the family, by her beautiful spirit that it seemed as though already she was standing on the threshold of that bright Home which she was to enter. The God who took her to dwell in that better world, for which she was so ready, will comfort the stricken parents and brothers, watch over the motherless babe and breathe hope into the heart of the husband for the union on that other shore which shall be eternal.

Rev. Nels G. Sundby, of Collins and Bennett, has been summoned and the funeral will take place today at 2 p. m., from the Presbyterian church.
