Bill J. Welch, 50, Afton, died Wednesday at 1:45 p.m. in Sweetwater County Memorial Hospital where
he had been admitted eight hours earlier. Mr. Welch had been visiting his children in Green River,
when he became ill and was brought to the hospital in Rock Springs. The deceased was born in
Afton, Jan. 5, 1917. He was a veteran of World War II in which he served with the U.S. Army.
Survivors include three sons, Scotty, Joseph, and Jerry, and one daughter, Chiquita, all of Green River;
his mother, Mrs. Peter (Alice) Pethulas, Ogden, Utah; one brother, Jack, Sacramento, California, and
several nieces and nephews. Funeral services are pending.
