The funeral service for Alfred B. Anderson will be Tuesday, February 3, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Homes with the Rev. Warren Anderson officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery with military honors provided by American Legion Post #92.

Mr. Anderson, 87, of Rochester, died Thursday, January 29, 2009 at St. Marys Hospital.

Alfred Bernard Anderson was born April 21, 1921 in Dexter, MN to Louis S. and Inga (Olson) Anderson. He served in the U.S. Army from 1941-1945. He was a staff sargent and served in Italy and Northern Africa. He marriend Beatrice Anna Zempel on June 13, 1941 in Spring Valley, MN. He worked for Mortanson Motors and Stone Olsmobile in Rochester before opening his own business, Al's Service Center in Rochester. He sold his business and worked for Rochester City Lines as a bus driver until retiring in 1987.

Alfred enjoyed motorcycles, fishing and hunting.

He is survived by a daughter, Wendie (Bruce) Rucker of Rochester. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Beatrice in 1999; daughter, Jacqueline Anderson; three brothers; and a sister.

A visitation will be Monday, February 2, 2009 from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Homes and one hour prior to the service on Tuesday at the funeral home.
