Sylvania - Mr. Allen Martin Cooler, 87, died Friday night at the Syl-View Health Care Center.

The Jasper County, SC native was a member of Christian Missionary Alliance Church. Mr. Cooler retired from Sears, Corp. having worked as an auto mechanic and had served in the U.S. Marines during World War II.

Mr. Cooler was preceded in death by his wives, Glennis Williams Cooler and Myra Gay Newton Cooler.

Mr. Cooler is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Ruth C. and Fred Williams of Rocky Ford, GA; son and daughter-in-law, Allen M. "Sonny" Cooler, Jr. and Debbie of Bloomingdale, GA; a sister, Mamie C. Slater of Sylvania; six grandchildren, Esther W. Stokes, Timothy Williams, Richard Williams of Rocky Ford, GA, Jeffery Cooler of Seattle, WA, Steven Cooler of Bloomingdale, GA and Daniel Coller of Alamogordo, NM; ten great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be at the funeral home Sunday from 6-8 p.m.

Graveside service for Mr. Cooler will be Monday at 2:00 p.m. at Oak Hill Cemetery in Meldrim, GA with Rev. Don Scarborough officiating.--Thompson Strickland Waters Funeral Home Inc. Sylvania--Savannah Morning News, January 29, 2006
