Clara K. Hunt Parrish, 87, of Crosby, died Tuesday, January 27, 2009, at the Triumph Hospital in Baytown.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, January 31, 2009, at the Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel in Dayton, with graveside services at 2:00 p.m., at the Cedar Grove Cemetery in Trinity. Visitation will be held from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m., Friday, at the funeral home. Services are under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton.

Clara was born December 11, 1921 in Chadbourn, NC to parents; Henry Clifford and Letha May Nobles Hunt, a former resident of Dayton, and has resided in Crosby for the past four years. She was a retired clerk from the Kroger grocery in Huntsville, and member of the Highlands Church of Christ. She also enjoyed sewing, cooking, and gardening.

Mrs. Parrish was preceded in death by her parents, husband: Leon Charles Parrish, granddaughter: Jessica Ann Canady, sisters: Molly Berneice Kalles, Ethel Mae Hunt, and Ruby Mae Mongonia, and brothers: Elmer and Henry Clifford Hunt, Jr.

She is survived by her sons: Harry B. Canady and wife Delilah of Crosby and Grover Canady of Canada, sisters: Anna Ruth Edwards of Lexington, SC, Joyce Josephine Bellamy of Myrtle Beach, SC, Eula Fay Palmeri of Houston, Nina Lee Kirby of Lexington, SC and Patsy Clifford Hinson of Whiteville, NC, brothers: Rushie Hunt of Crosby, Ruie Hunt of Humble, and Billie Hunt of Charleston, NC, eight grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
