DEATH OF ERNEST TROTTER

Ernest Trotter of Deer Flat died in this city Thursday of typhoid fever, after a sickness of several weeks. A wife and several children survive him. He was born in Shelly [sic] county, Iowa, April 13, 1873. The family came to Caldwell about four years ago.

The marker says birth date is Feb 12, 1873; the obit says April 13, 1873. A well-researched family history and the 1900 census give April 27, 1873 and April 1873 as birth dates.
