SAVANNAH, CHATHAM COUNTY, GEORGIA - Lois Eloise Box Armstrong, 80, of Savannah, Georgia, died Tuesday evening, January 27, 2009, at Memorial Health University Medical Center. Born in Brandon, Florida, she was a daughter of the late Ernest J. Box and the late Leona Kicklighter Box. Mrs. Armstrong was a life long member of Ardsley Park Baptist Church. She was formerly with Levy's, Adler's, and retired after 25 years of service with Belk. Surviving are her son, Dale Armstrong of Springfield, Georgia; her daughter-in-law, Rhonda Armstrong; three sisters, Ernestine Widdon of Brandon, Florida, Barbara Ann Croft of Vidalia, Georgia, and Carolyn Vines and her husband, Jerry, of Franklin, Tennessee, and two grandchildren, Donna Marie Armstrong and Christopher Dale Armstrong and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 Friday at Gamble Funeral Service, 410 Stephenson Avenue. The funeral service will be held at 2 o'clock Saturday afternoon in the chapel of Gamble Funeral Service conducted by The Reverend Artis Carswell. Interment will be in Lower Black Creek Cemetery.
