Mrs. Francis H. Gheen, who died in New York, on October 18th, was 81 years of age on that day. She was the daughter of T. Jefferson and Clarissa Harlowe Brinton, and had been a resident of West Chester for 60 years. Mrs. Gheen had many friends here who remember her not only for her kind and sympathetic nature, but for the keen intelligence and enthusiasm which she manifested toward the problems uppermost in the world's affairs to-day. She was progressive, with a far-reaching judgement and great common sense. There was almost no subject of vital importance with which she was not conversant, and young and old found her an interesting and inspiring companion. She leaves four daughters and a sister. Services will be held in New York at the residence of her daughter, Mrs. Phillips B. Robinson. Interment at the Friends' Burying Ground, Monday, at 2:30.
