Wendyl Wayne Heath, 75, of Las Cruces, passed away quietly on January 20, 2009. He was born on February 19, 1933 in Madill, Oklahoma.

He was in the New Mexico National Guard and stationed at Ft. Bliss, El Paso, Texas from 1950-1952. He worked for the telephone company from 1952 to 1956. In 1956 he went to work as a Communication Specialist for the U.S. government at White Sands Missile Range. He was instrumental in obtaining much of the state of the art communications equipment now in use at White Sands Missile Range. He retired as a Professional Engineer after 35 years of service. He was an avid bass fisherman and loved being at the lake fishing on his boat.

Wendyl is survived by his son, Wayne Heath of Silver City, NM, daughter Linda Cutler and her husband Lynn of Page, Arizona, niece, Lanette Smith and her husband, Billy Joe Smith of Las Cruces, NM, granddaughter, Teresa Destehenol, her husband, George and two great grandchildren of Page, Arizona.
Also survived by great nephews and niece William Smith, Sandra Blair, and John Smith.

Wendyl, was preceded in death by his daughter, Kimberly Heath.

Graveside service will be 11:00a.m., Friday January 30th, 2009 at Masonic Cemetery. La Paz-Graham's Funeral Home.
