Mrs. Myra Rollings, 76, well known resident of Route 15 (East Pinckley Street Road) for the past 46 years, died at 12:15 p.m. last Friday in Clay County Hospital Intensive Care Unit following a brief illness. She had been taken to the hospital July 26.
Mrs. Rolling's was born near Hoosierville in Jackson Township Aug.8 1899, the daughter of the late William Riley and Melvina Neese Whittington. Devoted to her family as a mother and homemaker, she also was active in her church affairs as a member of the Harmony Community Church. On April 9, 1924 she was united in marriage to Ben Rolling's who preceded her in death, Feb. 23, 1955.
She is survived by one daughter and four son, Curtis R., Route 13, David L. and Stanley W. "Fuzz: (owner of Rolling's Real Estate Sales), both of Route 15, Mrs. Mary Lou Myers, Rout 17, Roy L., Route 1, Carbon; a sister, Mrs. Mary Grant, Indianapolis; and eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren together with several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were at 10 a.m. Monday at Lawson-Slack Funeral Home. The Rev. James Buck, Harmony Community Church minister, officiated. Interment followed in Cottage Hill Cemetery.
