Sally was born in 1891 to Julius C. Day and Sarah McDonald Day. She had 5 sisters and 3 brothers and lived in Eucheeanna, FL. She married Lee Infinger and had 4 sons. In 1929, when she was 38 years old, her husband passed unexpectedly from appendicitis. She was left with a farm and 4 boys ranging in ages from 15-7 years of age. Relatives offered to take her sons to raise but she insisted on keeping her sons together. They all worked hard to make a living from the 40 acre farm in Eucheeanna. Only 2 years later tragedy struck again when her oldest son Randall died after getting overheated plowing in the field. Afterwards her and her remaining 3 sons stuck together to continue life on the farm. She was a small in physical stature, sweet, caring, and determined woman.
