Tamar Houghton Whitney was the dau of Solomon and Deliverance Ross. She married Jonas Whitney (Deacon) on 11 Jan 1773 in Lancaster, Worcester, MA. They were the parents of eleven children.

Deacon Whitney removed to Strongsville, Cuyahoga, OH after her death and was buried in the Strongsville Cemetery.

Tamar's sister Mary, married Jonas Whitney's brother, Nathaniel.
