Laura May Swank, 84
Laura May Swank died Tuesday, April 15, at Parkwood Health Care Center in Lebanon. She was 84. Born Sept. 7, 1912, in Boone County, she was a daughter of the late Otto and Stella (Cogle) Threlkeld. She was married to Jeff Swank in Crawfordsville on April 2, 1932. He died Oct. 16, 1985. A life resident of Boone County, she was graduated in 1931 from Dover High School. She was a homemaker and had assisted her husband in farming. Her hobby was cooking.
Mrs. Swank was an active Member of Dover Christian Church. Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Ray (Barbara) Smith of Brownsburg; brothers Roy Threlkeld of Darlington and John Threlkeld of Lebanon; a sister, Helen Fernandez; five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Bill Swank; brothers Orie, Earl and Everett Threlkeld; sisters Ruth Stevens, Gladys Butler and Ruby Isenhower; and a grandson.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Dover Christian Church. Rev. Raymond Duff and Rev. Mike Frazier will officiate. Interment will follow at Dover Cemetery.
Calling will be from 3 to 5 p.m. Thursday at Russell and Hitch Funeral Home, 223 N. Meridian St., Lebanon, and one hour prior to the service at the church.
Memorials may be made to the Dover Christian Church Building Fund.
