Clara E. Hilt, 93, formerly of 2422 Virginia Ave., Connersville, Ind., died at the Fayette Memorial Hospital, Connersville, on Tuesday, March 9, 1993, after a short illness. She had been a resident of the Connersville Nursing Home since March 17, 1988.
She was born July 30, 1899, in Franklin County, the daughter of Robert E. and Elizabeth Davis Phillips. She was a graduate of Clarksburg High School with the class of 1918, and came to Connersville in 1969. She was a member of the Milroy Christian Church.
She was the widow of Merlin Seniour, who died in 1926, and of Noah C. Hilt, who died in 1962. Survivors include her son-in-law, Aaron Hamon, Connersville, who took care of her; five stepchildren, Imogene Runyon, Brookville, Ind., Gilbert Hilt, Shelbyville, Ind., Harold Hilt, of Rushville, Ind., Charles Hilt of Florida, and Joyce Elliott of Indianapolis and three nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter, Theodora "Teddy" Seniour Hamon, who died July 29, 1982, and three sisters, Ethel Gallamore, Lula King and infant Julia Phillips.
Services will be Friday at 2 p.m. at the Marshall Funeral Home in Dublin, Ind., with the Rev. Jon Morgan officiating.
Burial will be in Hopewell Cemetery in Rush County.
Visitation will be at the funeral home from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday and prior to the service on Friday.
