Former Fairbury resident, Glen G. Greves, 54 or Omaha died in a hospital there Thursday, June 20, 19794.

He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Arch L. Greves, who lived northwest of Fairbury for a number of years and was a 1937 graduate.

Preceding him in death were his parents and wife, Lorene.

Surviving are his sister, Nora, Mrs. Charles Bloyd of rural Fairbury, a niece and two nephews.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 Monday morning in the Traum-Vance-Gerdes Chapel with Rev. Darrell Anderson, officiating. Burial in the Fairbury Cemetery.

Glenn Grafton Greves was born July 21, 1919 and died June 20, in the Lutheran General Hospital in Omaha at the age of 54 years, 10 months and 29 days.

He was the only son of Arch Greves and Geraldine Grafton Greves. He grew up on a farm south of Fairbury and graduated from Fairbury High School in 1937.

On May 26, 1943 he married Lorene Bauer at Fort Benning, Georgia, where he was stationed with the United States Army. His wife was injured in an automobile accident Dec. 24, 1943 which left her paralyzed. He was preceded in death by his wife Lorene on Jan. 27, 1966 and both of his parents.

Surviving are his sister, Nora, Mrs. Charles Bloyd of Fairbury; two nephews, Larry of Denver, CO and Charles of Pittsburgh, PA and a niece Judy, Mrs. Loren Specht of Diller and a very close friend Orville Bloomquish of Omaha.

Glenn moved to Omaha several years after his wife's accident and worked as an auto mechanic until 1957, when he suffered a brain hemorrhage that left him a semi-invalid.

Funeral services were June 24 at the Traum-Vance-Gerdes Chapel. Pallbearers were Harold Aasen, Harold Bauer, Donald Welsh, Peter McCord, Harold Flower and Norbert Bauer. Interment was in the Fairbury Cemetery.
