Mrs. Swartzfager was the wife of the Rev. George K. Swartzfager, pastor of Nazareth Lutheran Church, Chatfield. Since their marriage Aug. 7, 1948, she and her husband had served pastorates in Patchogue, Long Island, N.Y., Spencer, Ohio and Manchester, Ind., before coming to Chatfield in January 1968.
She was a member of Nazareth Lutheran Church and the Women of the Church.
Born Dec. 9, 1922, in Medford, Long Island, N.Y. , she was the daughter of Charles and Henrietta (Timm) Dodt. Both are deceased. Two brothers also preceded her in death.
Besides her husband, three children survive. They are George Jr., Tampa, Fla.: Charles, Columbus, and Kathleen-Marie at home.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday in Nazareth Lutheran Church, with the the Rev. Ralph House, pastor of St. John's Lutheran Church in New Washington, officiating. Burial will be in Nazareth Lutheran Cemetery.
Calling hours will be observed in the Munz-Pirnstill Funeral Home from 7 to 9 p.m. tomorrow and anytime Wednesday, when the family will receive callers from 2 to 4 p.m.
The family suggest that mermorials may be in the form of contributions to Luther Home of Mercy.
