Ushers will be El Reno high school youths who are former pupils of Miss Dale, and the choir, directed by Mrs. Sanford Babcock, will be composed entirely of her former students.

Stores in downtown El Reno will close Monday during the funeral of Miss Etta Dale out of respect to her memory and so that employees who wish to do so may attend the services, it was announced Saturday afternoon.

The body will lie in state in the junior high school auditorium from 12 noon until time for the services.

Burial will be made at El Reno with Benson funeral home in charge of arrangements.

Miss Dale, who was born Apr. 5, 1872, in Cedar county, Missouri, had taught school in Canadian county 52 years. She taught three years at Banner, starting in 1889, before beginning her long service at El Reno on Nov. 30, 1892.

50 YEARS AT CENTRAL

She completed 50 years of service as principal of Central school in May 1942, and although she resigned from the faculty that month, she re-entered the system in fall of 1942 to teach one more year, as a member of the high school staff. She was principal at Central school from the time it was founded until her resignation.

Miss Dale, who taught with every superintendent of schools that El Reno ever has had, earned the distinction of holding a position in the same school system longer than any teacher in Oklahoma.

Numerous high honors were won by Miss Dale through her long years of service to the schools, and many glowing tributes have been accorded her by persons in all walks of life.

Survivors include five sisters, Mrs. Mary Klapp of Tecumseh, Mrs. Ella Post of Topeka, Kan., Mrs. Amanda Brooke of Las Vegas, N.M., Mrs. Florence Smith of Venice, Calif., and Mrs. Ida Morgan of San Jose, Calif.; a brother-in-law, J. E. Penner, and a sister-in-law, Mrs. O. L. Dale, both of El Reno; nine nephews and seven nieces.
