Anna R. Caddell, 83, of North Vernon passed away Saturday, January 24, 2009 at St. Vincent - Jennings Hospital.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 28, 2009 at Sawyer & Pickett Funeral Home with Rev. Stephen Donahue officiating. Burial will be at St. Anne's Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. till 8:00 p.m. Tuesday with a prayer service at 6:00 p.m.

Born in Chicago May 17, 1925, Anna was the daughter of Michael and Catherine Scardine Sarley Pantaleo. She married Julian Caddell Sr. April 19, 1948. He passed away November 26, 1970.

Anna retired in 1988 from Ezzo Meat Packing Co. where she worked as a supervisor. She was also a foster grandparent for 11 years at North Vernon Elementary and Jennings Villa.

Anna was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church. She enjoyed reading her Bible, bird watching, cooking, and spending time with her grandchildren.

She is survived by one son, Julian Caddell Jr. of North Vernon; two daughters, Mary Ann (Larry) Scroggins and Catherine (Greg) Walker of North Vernon; two brothers, Alexander Sarley of Missouri and Nick Pantaleo of Chicago; four grandchildren, James Adams of Columbus, Julie Adams of Zionsville, Emily Walker of North Vernon, and Amanda Butter of Greensburg; and two great-grandchildren, Chloe Kolanowski and Rebecca Lynn Caddell.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and one brother, Rocco Scarley.

Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association, or St. Jude's Children's Hospital through the funeral home.
