Edward (Butch) was born to Charles Edward and Carolina (Zanoni) Berta. (First cousins) He married Lurline (Natividad Gaston) in 1938. First daughter was Emily and second was Dolores. (Dolores' twin died at birth.) Edward worked as Street Sweeper Foreman for the City and County of San Francisco. He had so many friends, they couldn't even close the doors at the funeral home for his Rosaries. He was the neighborhood bicycle maker on Conkling Street.
