Karen S. Rodgers of St. James, Missouri passed away Sunday, September 8, 2013 at the Missouri Baptist Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri at the age of 65.
Karen was born July 12, 1948 in Rosati, Missouri to the late Louis and Ollie (Laycock) Hughes.
Karen was a member of the St. James Church of God. She worked at Meramec Springs State Park, it was a job that was never work to her, she loved it and the people she worked with. But her biggest joy came from time spent with family and friends; she enjoyed cooking for her family and just spending time with them. Karen was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend to many and will be greatly missed by those that knew and loved her.
Karen is survived by her sons, Michael Olsen and wife Tammy, of Newburg, MO, and Thomas Olsen and wife Amy, of Robards, KY; brothers, George Hughes and wife Rose, of Rolla, MO, Charles Hughes and wife Betty, of St. James, MO, Donald Hughes and wife Artie, of St. James, MO, Harold Hughes and wife Peggy, of Rolla, MO; sisters, Alice Isgriggs, of Steelville, MO, and Irene Taylor and husband Robert, of Fair Grove, MO; sister-in-law, Ella Hughes, of Salem, MO; 7 grandchildren a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
In addition to her parents Karen was preceded in death by her husband Harvey Rodgers; brothers, Audrey and Louis Hughes; sister, Edith Hughes; sisters-in-law, Lynn Jacobs and Earlene Hughes; and brother-in-law, Henry Isgriggs.
Funeral services for Karen Rodgers will be held Thursday, September 12, 2013 at the Church of God in St. James, MO with Pastor Don Carson officiating. Interment will be in the Hughes Cemetery. Visitation for family and friends will be Wednesday, September 11, 2013 from 5-7 PM
