Rachel S. Jacobs dies at age 100

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Rachel Evelyn Sapp Jacobs, 100, died Jan. 4 at Integrated Health Services Nursing Home in Jacksonville.

She was a native of Pierce County, Ga., and lived in Jacksonville the past couple of years. She was a homemaker and a member of New Oak Grove Primitive Baptist Church. She was the widow of Owen Levi Jacobs.

SURVIVORS: a daughter, Pearlie Chesser of Nahunta; three sons, the Rev. Frank Jacobs of Nahunta, Lester and Eugene Jacobs, both of Jacksonville; a sister, Ethel Jacobs of Blackshear, Ga.; two brothers, Hoke Sapp of Waycross, Ga., and Foster Sapp of Hoboken, Ga.; 119 grandchildren, 145 great-grandchildren, 62 great-great-grandchildren, 57 great-great-great-grandchildren, three great-great-great-great-grandchildren and several other relatives.

VISITATION: 2 p.m. Wednesday at the residence of her daughter, Route 2, Box 202 AA, Nahunta, Ga.

FUNERAL: 2 p.m. Thursday at New Oak Grove Primitive Baptist Church, burial in Spring Hill Cemetery.
