Born Aug. 13, 1918, near Wyatt, daughter of the late Lee and Rosie Johnson Forrester, she lived in Mississippi County most of her life. She had been a waitress for the Charleston Cafe.
In 1933, she married Yeura Elrod who preceded her in death on Nov. 18, 1986.
Survivors include: one son, Charles Lee Elrod; two daughters, Alice Elizabeth Tharp and Karen Sue Kolwyck; and seven grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
Two sisters, one brother and five half brothers also preceded her in death.
Visitation was held at Shelby Funeral Home, where services were conducted with Darrell Pollock officiating.
Burial followed in the Dogwood Cemetery near East Prairie.
Pallbearers were: Jim Elrod, Christy Hutcheson, Chad Fetters, Robert Kolwyck, Richard Kolwyck and Michael Kolwyck.
