Benjamin Kenyon Born in Wichita
Benjamin Franklin Kenyon, 82, lifetime resident of Wichita and hotel operator here for 29 years, died unexpectedly Friday morning at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Ruth Virginia Plant, 2257 S. Spruce, where he has been residing.
Mr. Kenyon was born here Oct. 1, 1877, and was owner and operator of the Wilks Hotel, 119 N. Emporia, before retiring in 1947. He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles C. Kenyon who moved to Wichita In 1873 from Littleton, Kan. The elder Kenyon was in the lumber business and was one of Wichita's first city councilmen.
Mrs. B. F. Kenyon was a member of the Broadway Christian Church. His wife Marie preceded him in death in 1933.
Survivors in addition to Mrs. Plant, are three grandchildren.
Funeral arrangements will be announced later by Gill Mortuary.

Former Hotelman's Funeral Arranged
Funeral services for Benjamin Franklin Kenyon, 82, of 2257 S. Spruce, will be held at 1:30 p.m.
Monday at Gill Mortuary. The Rev. Merwin R. Kurtz, pastor of Hyde Park Evangelical United Brethren Church will officiate. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery.
Mr. Kenyon, lifelong resident of Wichita, and operator of a hotel here for 29 [years, died Friday.
He was born in Wichita Oct. 1, 1877, and retired in 1947 as operator of Wilks Hotel, 119 N. Emporia.
Casketbearers will include Joe Alvis, Keith Holder, Bob Huff, Sam Wacker, Bill Ward and Bill Winn.
