She was born Macy Ann Catherine Bowen, b. 19 May 1846, d. 17 Sep 1921, at age 75 years, 3 months, 29 days. She was the 2nd of eight children born to Margaret Elizabeth McElveen (1827-1879) and Silas Elisha Bowen (1815-1896). She was the granddaughter of Elisha Bowen (1778-1826) and Penelope Everett (1782-1849). She married Allen Rawls Lanier on 22 Nov 1860. She and her husband are interred at Lower Lotts Creek Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery, Bulloch County, Georgia.

ii. Macy Ann Catherine Bowen, b. 19 May 1846, d. 17 Sep 1921. She was called "Macey" by her contemporaries throughout her lifetime. She married Allen Rawls Lanier on 22 Nov 1860. He was born 23 Mar 1841, died 29 Dec 1896. Both are interred in Lower Lotts Creek Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery, Bulloch County, Georgia.

iii. John Basil "B" Bowen, b. 06 Apr 1848, d. 09 Dec 1901. He married Sarah Jane "Sally" Nevil, daughter of Thomas Nevil and Rachael Parker. He is interred in Bowen-Dekle Cemetery, Near Excelsior Community, Candler County, Georgia.

iv. James "Jim" Elias Bowen, b. 22 Aug 1850 in Bulloch County, Georgia, died 08 Feb 1935 in Davenport, Florida. Married Frances Emaline "Fannie" Williams, b. 27 Oct 1850 in Bulloch County, Georgia, d. 02 Sep 1922 in Davenport, Florida.

v. Moses Jackson Bowen, b. 22 Oct 1852 in Bulloch County, Georgia, d. 10 Nov 1936 in Statesboro, Bulloch County, Georgia. m. (1) Julia A. Olliff, b. 05 Nov 1859, d. 12 Jun 1895 in Statesboro, Bulloch County, Georgia. m. (2) a widow, Ellen Cornelia Mikell, in Sep, 1896, Bulloch County.
