Born Oliver Eugene Hazel the eldest of three children to Curtis E. and Mary C. Hazel.

Mr. Hazel was a lifelong mechanic who would help anyone anytime he was able. He also loved children. He had a way of making them laugh when no one else could.

On JAN. 23, 1985, he went to help his mother out with some work around the house. He got to feeling ill, and instead of saying something went in and fixed a glass of tea. He suffered cardiac arrest a few minutes later.

He is survived by his mother, Mrs. Mary C. Hazel of Greenwood, SC, four daughters, Mrs. Debra Crawford of Iva, Mrs. Gail Crawford, of Antreville, and Mrs. Ann Nabors, and Mrs. Mary Plyler of Greenwood. A brother William Curtis Hazel, of Greenwood, and a sister Mrs. Joyce Fulmer of Greenwood.

On the day of his funeral, it was announced that his first grandchild was being expected.

His grandchildren are Nicole Crawford Davenport, Kyle Crawford, Tiffany Crawford, Bryan Crawford, Tray Plyler, Amanda Plyler Owens, and Brandon Nabors.

Great grandchildren as of this date are, Destiny Plyler Owens, Jeff( JJ) Owens Jr.,Audrey Hazel Marie Plyler, Zach Crawford, Hunter Davenport, Madison Grace Plyler, and Brantleigh Crawford.
