Son of David and Hannah Baird Prowell. Andrew and his brothers, Thomas Prowell and Josiah S. Prowell were raised by their maternal grandfather, Josiah Baird,upon the death of his daughter, Hannah Baird Prowell. Andrew was the husband of Prudence Jane Wright and her sister, Caroline Wright Walker. Prudence & Caroline were the daughters of Paschal and Elizabeth Lawley Wright. Andrew joined Brush Creek Primitive Baptist Church in 1873 in Smith County, Tennessee. Andrew's brother, Thomas Prowell, served with the Confederate during Civil War. Last known information on Andrew Jackson Prowell is that he appears in 1880 U.S. Census for West Point, Bates County, Missouri as age 47, married to Catharine (probably Caroline) with sons, Andrew age 17, Thomas age 14, and Mary Prowel age 15. Andrew Jackson Prowell was named after President Andrew Jackson. His last known address was Bates county, Missouri.
