Robert Carl Shewmake
Mr. Robert Carl Shewmake, age 72, passed away on Wednesday, May 12, at his home north of Alva following a three week illness. Funeral services were conducted Thursday afternoon, May 13 at 2:30 o'clock at the Chapel Hill Church, with the Rev. T. S. Sledge and the Rev. Potts, of Duck Hill, saying the last rites. Interment followed in the Chapel Hill cemetery with Trewolla Brothers in charge of arrangements.
The deceased is survived by his wife, Mrs. R. C. Shewmake; four daughters, Lela Clanton, Lillian Pentergrast, Georgia Middleton, and Sadie Middleton; twenty-five grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.
