OBITUARY
Frances Ruby Devereaux Clark was born at Busteyer, Chautauqua county, New York, September 10, 1829 and died at her home in Lovilia, Iowa, January 17, 1912, aged 82 years, 4 months and 7 days.
On May 10, 1852, at Alexandra(sic), Ohio, she was united in marriage to P. R. Clark, and the following year came to Iowa. As two lovers they walked the path of life together for almost fifty-eight years and to their home came eight loving children, two boys and six girls. Two died in infancy, Lewis and Lera(sic).
Her devoted husband was called to his long home on January 7(sic), 1910. Three daughters have also preceeeded her. They are: Mary, August 6, 1883; Jennie, wife of G. A. Hinton, September 18, 1890 and Rose, wife of J. M. Castner, December 24, 1910.
One sister, two daughters and one son survive her: Mrs. H. W. Miser, of Lovilia, Mrs. T. R. Cole, of Knoxville, Mrs. J. J. Green, of Seattle, Wash., and Charles H. Clark, of Lovilia.
Mrs. Clark was converted at the age of ten years. She delighted to tell of her convertion(sic) and was a devoted christain(sic), mother and wife.
Mrs. Clark was loved by everyone who knew her and she will be greatly missed.
The bereaved relatives have the sympathy of all in their hour of Bereavement.
Funeral services were held at the M. E. church Friday, January 19, 1912, at 2 o'clock conducted by Rev. J. H. Kock, and the remains were laid to rest in Woodlawn cemetery.
The following people from out of town were in attendance at the funeral: Mr. and Mrs. T. R. Cole, Mr. and Mrs. E. H. Gamble, Knoxville; Mr. and Mrs. T. R. Cole, jr., Buxton; mr. and Mrs. A. L. Munsell, Hamilton; Mr. and Mrs. J. D. Devereaux and daughter Miss Isabella, Albia; Mr. and Mrs. Asa Johnson, Bussey; Mrs. Ahn, Mrs. Mets, Mrs. Waggaman, Mrs. Watkins, Marysville; C. B. Foshier Harvey; J. B. Lyman, Tracey.
