Glynard "Buddy" Ballard, 75, of Teague, passed away Friday, Jan. 23, 2009. Funeral services will be 3:30 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 25, at Porter Chapel in Mexia. Internment will follow at Mexia Cemetery. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday evening, at the funeral home.

Buddy was born to the late Joe and Pauline Ballard. He married to Peggy Hawkins on August 23, 1950 in Mexia, Texas.

He was preceded in death by a grandchild; a great-grandchild; sister, Betty Moore, of Crawley, Tx; in-laws, Elmer and Jeanie V. Hawkins; and sister in-law, Patsy Hawkins, of Hawaii.

He is survived by his wife, Peggy, of 58 years; and sons, Elmer Ballard and wife, Patti, of Fairfield, Billy Ballard and wife, Sue, of Streetman, and Melvin Ballard and wife, Lillian, of Teague; daughters, Susain Shaw and husband, Herb, of Normagee, Glyna and Blelve Bridges, of Teague, and Slinda Childers and husband, Mickey, of Teague; grandchildren, Phillip and Michele Ballard, of Arlington, Ethan and Gayelynn Ballard, of Fairfield, Jeremy and Stephanie Ballard, of Streetman, Misty and James Light, of Hilltop Lakes, Jay Shaw, of Dallas, Wendy and Richard Ross, of Normagee, Jim and Amber Shaw, of Normagee, Tiffandy Ballard, of Beaumont, Kaytie and Casey Story, of Fairfield, Josh Kerzee, of Santa Fe, Texas, Shea and Tim Thompson, of Nacogdoches, Sammantha Childers and Evie Childers, both of Teague; brother, Joe "Sonny" Ballard and wife, Panda, of North Carolina; sister, Claudia Jones, of Crawley, Tx.; eighteen great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins; sister-in-law, Glenda Hall and husband, Cleatus, of Mexia; and many friends.

Buddy, a big time house mover in a hometown community - he will be missed by lots!
