Stanley Bajdek, 72, died Friday, October 30, 1998 at his home in rural Stephen.

Funeral services were held on Tuesday, November 3 at 10 a.m. at Assumption Catholic Chruch in Florian with Father Ray Palcisko officiating. Abi Kuznia was the organist. Casketbearers were Roger Pietruszewski, Gary Pietruszewski, Lambert Kuznia, Albert Blazejewski, Chester Szklarski and Philip Szklarski. Military honors were accorded by Stephen American Legion Post 390. Arrangements were with the Adamson-Austin Funeral Home of Stephen. Burial was in the Assumption Catholic Church Cemetery.

Stanley S. Bajdek was born on May 7, 1926 in Nelson Park township of Marshall county, the son of Stanley and Mary (Szklarski) Bajdek. He moved with his parents to Augsburg township where he grew up and atttended school. He was a lifelong member of Assumption Catholic Church in Florian where he was baptized and confirmed.

Stanley served in the United States Army from 1954 to 1956. He was engaged in farming, raising grain and potatoes, in Augsburg township his entire life.

He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and the Red River Valley Potato Growers Association.

Survivors include one brother, Ted Bajdek of Stephen; two sisters, Pauline Kalis of Sealy, TX and Olga Peitruszewski of New Brighton; four nieces, two nephews and several cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Otto Bajdek.
