Bradley received the full charge of the 12 gauge shotgun in his right hip when his younger brother accidentally discharged the weapon from a distance of about 10 feet. He suffered a severe loss of blood before he could be brought to the McCune-Brooks hospital here. He was later moved to the Freeman hospital in Joplin. His condition was not believed to be serious at that time.
The shots did not penetrate any vital organs, but shattered the hip. The operation was performed Thursday morning. Relatives were notified yesterday morning of his weakened condition and several of them were with him when he passed away.

Bradley was born January 29, 1906 near Carthage. He had been in the employ of the Joplin bank the last 3 years.

Besides his parents he is survived by 3 brothers, Samuel, Dale and Arthur, all at home and a sister, Edna Bradley, also of the home. An uncle, Ed Bradley, who lives near Rocky Comfort, Arkansas reached his bedside before he passed away.
