Verdie Waren was born July 10, 1919 in Ringgold, La. and passed away on August 9, 2008 in West Monroe, La. She is preceded in death by her husband, Frank Millard Waren, son; Milton Almond and her parents. She was an active member of First Baptist Church of West Monroe and the Williams/Vines Sunday School Class. She was also an active member in the Girl Scouts for over 40 years, a member of the Rebekah Lodge, and a volunteer for the North Monroe Hospital Auxiliary. Verdie was most happy when she was serving others and spending time with her family and friends.
Mrs. Waren is survived by son, Don Waren, daughter, Marilyn North, daughter-in-law, JoAnn Almond; grandchildren, Darris Waren, Denver Waren, Casey North Averitt of West Monroe and Monroe, Scott Almond, Mike Almond, Clay Almond and Wade Almond of Bossier. She is survived by eight great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews and friends.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons.
