He was born November 8, 1935 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Franklin Ray and Leona Mathison Bolton.
He married his sweetheart Marian Peterson on November 7, 1952 which was later solemnized at the Salt Lake Temple. They were married for a wonderful 56 years.
Gerald graduated from Salt Lake Community College with a degree in welding. He retired from Kennecott after 30 years of service.
Jerry was an avid golfer and enjoyed the time he spent on the course with family and friends. He loved the outdoors hunting, fishing and camping, spending many summers in Montana. But most of all he loved his family.
Survived by wife, Marian; son, Sherman (Jacque); daughter, Stephanie; granddaughters, Karlie (Scott) Birbeck and Leesa Bolton; five great-grandchildren; mother-in-law, Margaret Peterson; brothers, Denny (Susan) and Brent (Wendy); and many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by two sons, Darrell and Michael; parents; father-in-law, Mono Peterson; grandson, Matthew; niece, Teresa.
Funeral Services will be held at 12 noon on Saturday, January 21, 2009 at the West Valley 4th Ward Chapel, 3150 West Whitehall Avenue (3985 South), West Valley City. A viewing will be held from 10-11:45 a.m. prior to the services at the Church.
Interment: Elysian Burial Gardens.
