The funeral service for longtime McCartney Produce owner Harlan Lloyd McCartney of Paris will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Ridgeway Funeral Home.

Trent Bullock, Larry Simmons and Paul Veazey will officiate. Burial will follow in Maplewood Cemetery.

Chosen as pallbearers are Jim Adams, Jerry Bowden, Lee and Steve Greer, Don Davenport, Gayle Griffith and Charles McMillan.

Billy Owens and members of the Rotary Club will be honorary pallbearers.

Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. today and after 10 a.m. Wednesday.

McCartney, 90, died Monday, July 9, 2012, at his residence.

His wife, Nora Jean Pate McCartney, survives. They were married on March 22, 1946.

Born Oct. 2, 1921, in Bradford, he was a son of the late John David and Corean Lloyd McCartney. vHe owned McCartney Produce from 1947-1980. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Paris, a World War II U.S. Navy Seabee, member of Paris Masonic Lodge 108 for 65 years, member and past president of the Rotary Club and a Paul Harris fellow.

He also was a bronze life master of American Contract & Bridge League, past president of the Paris Country Club, former director at Commercial Bank and for many years sponsored Biddy Basketball and Little League teams. He attended the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill and graduated from Chillicothe (Mo.) Business College.

Besides his wife, he leaves one son: Pate L. McCartney of Brentwood; two grandchildren: Meagan McCartney-Margolis of Los Angeles and Lindsey McCartney-Margolis of Palo Alto, Calif.; one nephew: Donald F. McCartney of Seymour; and three nieces: Amelia Cartrett of Attalla, Ala., Suzanne McCartney of Hattiesburg, Miss., and Cindy McCartney of Miami.

He also was preceded in death by a son: Michael H. McCartney on May 21, 2001; a sister: Joye McCartney; one brother: David Felix McCartney; and a nephew: David McCartney.

Memorials may be made to the charity of donor's choice.
