Albert was the son of Frederick "Fred" William Jorns and Leonora "Lena" Magdalena Hann. He married first Lena Leola Faulkner on 18 September 1912. He married second Katherine "Kate" Henderson on 29 December 1969. He married third Kathryn "Kathy" Nither on 10 February 1973.
