Emanuel S. Smith,76, a retired farmer died Monday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at his home in Tryone township, York Springs R.2. from complacation of diseases. He had been in failing health for 5 years.
He was the last surviving member of the family of Boras and Lydia (Spangler) Smith. He was a member of the Heidlersburg Lutheran Church.
Eight children survive, they are: Harper of Gardners R.1, Mrs. Harry Little of Gettysburg R.4, Mrs. Cyrus Yohe of Gardners R.2, Ira of Gardners R.1, Mrs. Dewey Eply of Gettysburg R.5, Oscar of York, Ruth at home and George of York, thirty-three grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren also survive.
Funeral services from the late home Thursday afternoon at 1 o'clock, with further services at the Ground Oak Lutheran Church, conducted by the Rev. Kenneth James and the Rev. P.J. Horick. Interment at the Upper Bermudian Cemetery.
