Mrs. Martin Eastwold, 88, a long time resident of Malakoff, passed away at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Wm. Schwalm in St. Louis MO Dec 30 following a long illness.

Funeral services were held from the Methodist Church at Malakoff, Mon Jan 1 with burial in the Malakoff Cemetery. The Rev Herman Millikan and the Rev S.C. Irvin officiated.

Mrs. Eastwold was born Eppie Rix, Nov 10, 1873 in Palestine, moving to Malakoff in 1905 where she resided until 1939.

She was the wife of Martin Eastwold, who for many years was associated with the First State Bank of Malakoff. Mrs. Eastwold was a member of the local Methodist Church for 54 yrs.

She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. William Schwalm of St. Louis, MO; one son Rix Mitcham of Bastrop, TX; two granddaughters and four great grandchildren. A son, Martin Eastwold Jr preceeded her in death in 1942.
