Dessie Street Cantrell, age 98, of Green Dale Rd, Johnson City, TN, passed away January 19, 2009, at Johnson City Medical Center.
She was a Native of Graham County, NC, and was the daughter of the late Kimsey and Lillie Mariah Crisp Aldridge.
She was a member of Milligan Freewill Baptist Church in Johnson City, TN.
Survivors include; son, Clifford Street and wife, June, of Johnson City, TN; daughter in law, Iva Lee Street, of Bakersville, NC; three grandchildren, Stephen Street, Larry Dean Street and Patricia Caughron; eight great grandchildren, Dawn Street, Deanna Garland, Daron Caughron, Lake Cameron Street, Kaden Carter Street, Lisa Honeycutt, Deborah Lowery and Michael Hughes; seven great great grandchildren, Kaylia Desiree Street, Lillie Grace Garland, Cierra Gouge, Levi Gouge, Jacob Honeycutt, Kameron Honeycutt and Justin Hughes; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by: husbands, James Carter Street and Oman Cantrell; one son, Earl Street; seven brothers; and four sisters.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, January 21, at 2:00 PM in Odoms Chapel Freewill Baptist Church with Mark Street and Bobby Campbell officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Melton Cemetery.
