Jack P. Bain, 77, of Little Rock, died Thursday, May 27. He was born in Lonoke and is survived by his wife Connie Matthews Bain; two sons, Jackie Bain Jr. of North Little Rock and Robert Bain of Clearwater, Florida; a daughter, Rebecca Bain Austin of Weathersfield, Vermont; a brother, Garland Bain of Lonoke; three grandchildren; and his beloved aunt, Jamie Guy of the home.

He was a member of Pulaski Heights Baptist Church, a Christian and a disabled American veteran of World War II in the European Theater of Operations where he won the Legion of Merits, the Purple Heart with clusters, the Silver Star, Bronze Star, and the Italian Cross of Valor. Mr. Bain was a 32nd degree mason, a member of the England Masonic Lodge #507, a Shriner, a member of the Stuttgart Order of Eastern Star, a member of the V. F. W., the American Legion, and a former mayor of England.

Funeral services were held at Pulaski Heights Baptist Church in Little Rock at 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 1 and graveside servies immediately followed at Mulberry Cemetery in England by Rev. Jim Munns and Bro. Harold White.

Arrangements were by Wilson-Stephens Funeral Home, Inc. in England, Arkansas.
