She was born Sept. 9, 1912 in Lewiston, Utah, a daughter of Willard LeRoy and Mabel Pratt VanOrden. When she was a young girl her family moved to the Kelly area near Chesterfield where she attended school, and graduated from North Gem High School in Bancroft in 1930. She graduated from Idaho State University/(Southern Branch) in Pocatello in 1932. She received her bachelor of science degree in education from the University of Idaho in 1954 and her master of science degree in education from the University of Idaho in 1961.
Mrs. Green taught in various Idaho schools.
She married Leon G. Green May 11, 1940 in Farmington, Utah, and the marriage was later solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple. They made their home in Moscow from 1940 to 1962, where she also taught school, and for 20 years she was a master demonstration teacher for the University of Idaho, Division of Teacher Education, retiring in 1973. Since 1962 she and her husband have lived in McCammon.
Mrs. Green was a member of the LDS Church, having served as Relief Society president and teacher in the YWMIA. She enjoyed ballroom danching and participated in the ballroom dancing division of all the church dance festivals in Salt Lake City. She was well-known for her cooking and baking especially her pies and she enjoyed quilting.
Survivors include her husband, of McCammon; one son, Cumer Leon Gree, Boise; one daughter, Mrs. Eric (Dianne) Bjarnson, Pleasant Grove, Utah; three sisters, Mrs. Harold (Hazel) Redford, Pocatello, Mrs. Agatha Hatch, Logan, Utah, and Mrs. Ross (Thelma) Redford, Chesterfield; 14 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister and a granddaughter.
Funeral services were on Monday at the McCammon LDS Stake Center. Burial was in the Norton Cemeterin McCammon. Funeral services under the direction of Manning Funeral Chapel in McCammon.
