Booneville, KY – Jessie Baker, 47, passed away on April 28, 2008, at the University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington, KY after a long illness. He was born in Owsley County on July 1, 1960, the son of Moody Baker and Ruby Robertson Baker on July 11, 1960 and was a coal miner. He is survived by a son, Jessie R. Baker of Beaver Dam, KY: a daughter, Ruby Baker, a stepson, Bobbie Dale Baker, and a step daughter, Mary Baker, all of Beaver Dam, KY; and a step granddaughter. Also surviving are four brothers, Martin Baker, James Baker, Frank Baker and George (& Joni) Baker of Carrolton, KY; four sisters, Shirley Patterson, Loveland, OH, Bessie Wilder, Booneville, KY, Emma (& Gordan) Callahan and Stella Marshall, both of Ricetown, KY. Visitation was held from 10 a.m. until time of service on Friday, May 2, 2008 at the Searcy and Strong Funeral Home with Rev. Gary Marshall officiating. Burial at Laurel Point Cemetery in Clay County with Searcy and Strong Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Booneville Sentinel May 7, 2008.
