Essie Lee Egger, 83, died Friday, Feb. 23, 1996, at Brown's Nursing Home after a long illness. The Mississippi native had lived in Statesboro the past five years. She was a retired school system dietician and a member of Caledonia United Methodist Church in Caledonia, Miss.
Survivors include one daughter, Joan Branyon, Statesboro; two sisters, Miriam Wilson, Hamilton, Miss. and Lenora Locke, Columbus, Miss.; one brother, James Herman Egger Jr., Caledonia, Miss.; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
The funeral was held at 11 a.m. Monday at Gunter & Peel Funeral Home in Columbus, Miss. Burial was in the Egger Cemetery in Caledonia, Miss.
Nephews will be pallbearers.
