Clara, 88, resident of Briarwood Manor, died at 1:50 a.m., at Mercer County Community Hospital.

She was a daughter to Leo and Theresia (Kothman) Hemmelgarn. On Apr 27, 1940, she married Norbert C. Grube, who preceded her in death.

Surviving are four sons, Marvin (Marti), Hollywood, FL, Bernard, Union City, and Gene (Elaine) and Robert, all Ft. Recovery; two daughters, Linda Downing, Greenville, and Bernice Allen, New Paris; two brothers, Andrew, St. Henry, and Leroy (Mildred), Celina; two sisters, Teresa (Albert) Steinbrunner, Ft. Recovery, and Wilma (Cy) Everman, Maria Stein; sixteen grandchildren and twenty-one great-grandchildren.

Deceased are a son, Ronald Lee; two sisters, Bertha Dippold and Leona Hartings; and two great-grandchildren.

She was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church and its Altar Sodality, Sharpsburg, and a 50-year member of the Catholic Knights of America, St. Joe. She was retired from Fort Recovery Industries.

Funeral Mass was at the church, the Rev. Charles Mullen, officiating.
