Ruby Mae Bruce-Spiker, 93 of Littleton. Passed away Friday, September 15 at Greenwood Village Health Care. She was born May 31, 1913 in Ft. Lupton to Perry Alexander and Esther Mae (Smith) Wilmoth. Ruby married Homer M. Bruce, the former Secretary of State for Colorado, on May 18, 1930 and he died in 1975. She then married W. Dean Spiker on February 10, 1984 and he preceded her in death. She had lived in Platteville for 22 years and Ft. Lupton for 18 years. She was a member of the Englewood Methodist Church, the National Association of Retired Federal Employees and AARP. She was also a past Noble Grand of Rebekah Lodge and served as a mail carrier in Platteville for 16 years. Survivors include grandsons, Greg Bruce of Castle Rock and H. Mark Bruce of Palmer Lake. Also surviving are 9 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded by her parents, a son, Carroll E. Bruce, daughter, Vona J. Wagner, grandson, Glenn Wagner and granddaughter, Vicki Wilson. Memorial Service, 2 p.m. Friday at the Platteville UMC with burial of cremains at Mizpah Cemetery, Platteville. In lieu of flowers, memorials to National Assoc. of Women in Construction-Metro Denver Chapel #112 or the Vona J. Wagner Memorial Scholarship in care of Allnutt, 702 13th St., Greeley, CO 80631.
