ARMSTRONG, JOHN Present Post Office: Letohatchee RFD Was born on August 3rd, 1837 at Hickory Grove in the county of Montgomery in the state of Alabama; first entered the service as 3rd Sergeant on July 1861 at Sandy Ridge Ala in the Co B 14th Ala Inf and continued until latter part of 1862, about September - Re-enlisted as Private on Sept 1862 at Montgomery Ala in The Co K 53rd Alabama Cavalry and continued until close of war per Bob Atchison.
