Mass of Christian Burial was held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, June 10, at Assumption Catholic Church in Florian. Interment was held at Assumption Cemetery, Florian. Military honors were provided by the Newfolden American Legion.
Ludvig was born on Aug. 11, 1919, near Florian, the son of Casmir and Margaret (Spinner) Blazejewski. He was raised in Wright Township, where he attended Oak Ridge School. He served in the US Army from 1941 - 1945, during World War II. After his discharge, he married Agnes Cecillia Filipiak at Assumption Catholic Church in Florian. They made their home on a farm in Wright Township, until moving in 1962 to a farm in rural Newfolden. Ludvig was a lifelong farmer. Agnes died in December 1969. In 2006, Ludvig moved to Karlstad for health care.
He was a lifelong member of Assumption Catholic Church and he was also a member of the Newfolden American Legion.
Ludvig loved to hunt, fish and play cards. He also enjoyed visiting with his grandchildren.
He is survived by five children, Leonard (Anita) Blazejewski of Newfolden, Virjean (Leonard) Kasprowicz of Drayton, N.D., Thomas (Wendy) Blazejewski of Newfolden, Judy (Robert) Kasprowicz of Drayton, N.D., and Rita (John) Sens of Eden Prairie; 11 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Agnes; eight brothers, Felix, Leo, Peter, Edward, David, John, Florian and Casmir; and four sisters, Mary, Helen, Evelyn and Pauline.
