Mr. Alton Staton, Jr., 82, died Saturday, January 17, 2009, at Brandon Nursing & Rehab. Funeral services are scheduled for 11 am Monday, January 19, 2009, at Baldwin-Lee Funeral Chapel with interment at 2 pm Monday at Union City Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday from 9 am until 11 am at Baldwin-Lee.
Mr. Staton was a veteran of WWII serving in the US Army. He was a retired home builder and master wood craftsman.
He is survived by his wife, Jackie Staton of Jackson; son, Dwight A. Staton (Nancy) of Jackson; grandchildren, Lisa Hicks (Glenn), Nikki Hannah (Jonathan) and Pamela Kuykendall (Shane); and great grandchildren, Christopher Manning, Kenny Manning, Loren Manning, Tanner Kuykendall, Brooke Kuykendall, Allie Hannah, and Ethan Hannah.
