Miss Mattie Mae Alexander, 53, resident of Memphis, Tennessee and former resident of Vaiden, died of diabetes Saturday, August 15, 1992 at the Baptist Central Hospital in Memphis.
Funeral services were conducted at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 18 at Vaiden Friendship Baptist Church with the Rev. Wardell Sawyer officiating. Burial was in the Vaiden Cemetery.
A native of Durant, Miss Alexander was a retired social worker for Central Mississippi, Inc. of Winona and a member of the Vaiden Friendship Baptist Church.
Survivors include her son, Markus Alexander of Memphis; her daughter, Mrs. Patricia A. McGhee of Memphis; her mother, Mrs. Louise Alexander of Memphis; one brother, James Alexander of Chicago, Illinois; three sisters, Mrs. Ella Polk and Miss Woodson Alexander, both of Chicago and Miss Sarah Alexander of Memphis; and two grandchildren.
Roberts and Sons Mortuary was in charge of arrangements.
