Funeral services for Mrs. Jacob Decker were held at 9 o'clock Friday morning from the St. Francis Xavier Catholic church in Burlington and high mass was by Father Trompeter of the Westphalia church. Music was by the choir with Mrs. F. W. Haight at the organ. Pallbearers were Arthur Shull, Joe Decker, Frank Decker, Charles Decker, Thomas Decker and Bert Decker. Interment was in Calvary cemetery. The church was filled with relatives and friends who paid their last respects to Mrs. Decker's memory. Prayer at the grave was led by Father Trompeter.

Catherine Cecelia Dempsey was born January 29, 1897 near Atlanta, Ia., and departed this life at the Bell Memorial hospital, Kansas City, Kans., August 25, 1936 at the age of 39 years, 6 months and 26 days. At an early age she moved with her parents to Missouri and a year later to the farm now occupied by Ivy Allen near Burlington, Kans., where the home was made until a year later when they moved to a farm near Hartford, Kans., and there she attended and graduated with the high school class of 1916. She was united in holy matrimony to Jacob A. Decker May 10, 1917 and to this union were born seven children: Leo, Floyd, Mary Elizabeth, Garland Francis who preceded her in death at the early age of three years, Frances Maxine, Anna Clara and James Martin Decker.

She is survived by her husband and six children, three sisters, Margaret Dempsey, Denver, Colo.; Mary Nystrom and Martha Dempsey, both of Garfield; two brothers, Thomas Dempsey, Omaha, Nebr., and Michael Dempsey, Holly, Colo, and other relatives and friends.
